Accident Reports
Accident reports can be purchased online through the LexisNexis Police Reports website. Reports may take up to a week to become available. The report number and the date of the incident are required to request a copy. Only Private Property Accident Reports can be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office.
Incident Reports
Incident reports with pending charges need to be requested from the Prosecutors Office. Incident reports without pending charges can be requested through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). When requesting these incident reports, be sure that the request specifically states that it is through the Freedom of Information Act.
Also be sure that the request includes:
- Date and location of the incident
- Incident number, if available
- Name of the individual involved
- Nature of the incident
The request must include the requester’s:
- Address
- Printed name
- Signature
- Telephone number
FOIA Request Costs
Total costs associated with FOIA requests vary based on time involved, number of paper copies, CD/DVD copies, and postage fees. Standard costs for CD/DVD reproductions will be $25 each. Visit the FOIA Requests page for more information.
Submitting FOIA Requests
FOIA requests and accident reports can be submitted to the Sheriff’s Office, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, or mailed to:
