A Child Is Missing
Most people are familiar with the Amber Alert system for children abducted by strangers. Amber Alerts are very effective, partly because their use is limited to cases matching select criteria. Unfortunately, this does prevent them from being used for other missing person cases. That’s where A Child Is Missing comes in.

Get STOPPED!
STOPPED, Sheriff's Telling Our Parents and Promoting Educated Drivers, is a partnership between the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan Sheriff’s Association, and AAA of Michigan working to promote teen driver safety and accountability. This program has also been adopted by several other Law Enforcement Agencies within the state and works with any participating agency.
Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks. To join our local C.E.R.T. program, print off the application from our "Forms" section under the "Services" tab. Fill out the application and submit it to Lt. Jason Torrey at the Sheriff's Office.
