Notary Public services are provided within the Manistee County Clerk's Office. We offer 2 signatures free of charge and $5.00 for each additional signature.

Become a Notary: The Michigan Notary Public Application (PDF) is available on this page, as well as in the County Clerk’s Office.
You must be 18 years of age or older, a Michigan resident, and reside in Manistee County.
- Complete an application for Michigan Notary Public Commission and return it to the Clerk's office.
- with a $10,000.00 (ten thousand dollar) surety bond.
- payment of $10.00 (ten dollars) processing fee payable to the Manistee County Clerk.
- The applicant then must mail the application with a check/money order for $10.00 (ten dollars) to the State of Michigan. (address on the form)
The Notary Certificate will be emailed directly to the applicant, from the State of Michigan.
