Incident & Insurance Report Requests E-mail

Accident Reports: Accident reports can be purchased online by going to Reports may take up to a week to become available. The report number and the date of the incident are required to request a copy. Only Private Property Accident Reports can be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office.    

Incident Reports: Incident reports with pending charges need to be requested from the Prosecutors Office. Incident reports without pending charges can be requested through the Freedom of Information act (FOIA). When requesting these incident reports be sure that the request specifically states that it is “through the Freedom of Information Act”. Also be sure that the request includes the name of the individual involved, the date and location of the incident, the nature of the incident and the incident number if available. The request must include the requestors address, telephone number, printed name and signature.

Total costs associated with FOIA requests vary based on time involved, number of paper copies, CD/DVD copies and postage fees. Standard costs for CD/DVD reproductions will be $25 each. Click on the "FOIA Requests" link for more information.

FOIA requests and Accident Reports can be submitted to the Sheriff’s Office Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm or mailed to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, 1525 E. Parkdale Ave., Manistee, MI 49660.
